A Magical Day in Sunapee Harbor
Whether you love the beauty of boats bobbing on the water, beautiful flower gardens, exploring quaint shops, strolling along the water's edge, or partaking in culinary delights, spending a day in Sunapee Harbor offers magic for everyone.
The picnic area at the water's edge is a favorite spot for visitors. Pack your own basket or get a delicious meal from the Anchorage Restaurant (right on the water).
Visit the Sunapee Historical Society to learn about a bygone area, walk along the Sugar River, or peruse a charming art gallery featuring work by local artists.
If you are itching to get out on the lake, there are boat rentals available, including kayaks and canoes. Paddle out around the bend and you'll be rewarded with a view of the widest part of Lake Sunapee, a majestic view of Mount Kearsarge in the distance and a glimpse of one of Lake Sunapee's three working lighthouses.
Now if a more leisurely ride is what you have in mind, the MV Mt. Sunapee II tour boat offers an informative narrated tour of Lake Sunapee, a favorite of young and old. There is also the MV Kearsarge, a replica of the old steamboats, offering dinner cruises.
Extend your day of fun in the Lake Sunapee Region with dinner at one of the many fine restaurants, or an exciting professional show at the New London Barn Playhouse (early June through Labor Day) or listen to one of the many free Summer concerts on our local town commons.
Can't do it all in one day? Stay a while longer at one
of the inns, bed & breakfasts or cottages in the area.
