Fall
The theatrically brilliant autumns so famous in New England, brought on by sharp, chilly nights and gentle, sun-warmed days, are no where more stunning than in New Hampshire's Lake Sunapee Region.

Here, Mt. Sunapee, Mt. Kearsarge, Ragged Mt., and Mt. Cardigan preside over a landscape that in late September and early October fairly catches fire with the changing colors of deciduous trees.

The spectrum ranges from the delicate yellow of birch to the velvety purple of American ash, including almost every shade between; many of the most luminous oranges, reds and yellows appear simultaneously on the sugar maple, the region's most spectacular tree.

Walking, hiking and biking are the most popular ways to enjoy the fall foliage. But, you can also have a grand view of the lake and mountains around aboard one of the tour boats on Lake Sunapee.

Bring or rent a canoe to visit those out-of-the-way ponds where you might get a glimpse of our beautiful loons. Our golf courses will provide you wonderful views of our fall colors from almost every tee, in addition to having a fun and challenging outing.

There are country fairs to visit -- oxen pulling contests to cheer for -- church socials and ham-n-bean dinners -- apple orchards to visit -- bogs to bounce in -- historical sites to see -- covered bridges to walk through.

Visit us for a fall vacation that you will always treasure. For more information, please use our contact form, e-mail chamberinfo@nhvt.net, or give us a call at 603-526-6575 or 877-526-6575.
